Highlighting the importance of photography, a French newspaper removes all images. It's an odd sight to see a newspaper with no images, and it's visually striking. But the act was done with great intentions as photography is being undermined and taken as a lower art or something any person could do with ease.

Humans of New York is a very successful photography project that illustrates one of the key characteristics of photography, communication. It's done by showing portraits of people, accompanied with short or long quotes from the person that was photographed. This creates a closer connection to the image that is being viewed by the viewers, but at the same time the photographer engages in a type of social joy. Photography brings new people together, makes people happy and gives us a new perspective on things we might have not noticed on our own.
